Impact Athletic Center opened its doors in 2021, currently owned by five Capital Region natives – Kevin Huerter, Tom and Erin Huerter, Chris Litchfield and Jessica Aiezza – with one shared vision: to create a place where sports, wellness, and community come together.

For years, supporting their families’ athletic pursuits meant traveling hours away, staying in hotels and eating at chain restaurants. They saw first-hand how the Capital Region lacked a first-class venue large enough to host competitive tournaments—one that allowed local athletes to compete at a high level while still sleeping in their own beds and enjoying meals at home.

Impact was built to be more than a sports facility. Our hardwood courts give basketball, volleyball, futsal and other teams reliable practice space, while families can watch, connect or even get work done—all under one roof. Our on-site restaurant,The Courtside Grille makes it easy for players and families to refuel before heading home.

The ownership team also anticipated the rise of pickleball—and they were right. Along with pickleball, our walking track and golf simulators give neighbors fun, social and active ways to stay moving all year long. To complement recreation, Impact also houses a Performance Training Center, where athletes of all ages can build strength, mobility and resilience. For NBA player and co-owner Kevin Huerter, Impact has become the perfect place to train, recover and prepare for each season when he returns home.
